Notes / Format

  • Teams will be comprised of 2 players, each player playing his own ball.
  • A team may be represented by either partner for all or any part of the stipulated round. A late arriving competitor may join his partner between holes, but not during the play of a hole.
  • In the interest of speeding play, a player who cannot better his partner’s score on a hole should pick up his ball and post the score he most likely would have achieved on the hole or his maximum allowable.
  • Play will be 18 holes individual stroke play using 85% of each player's 18-hole playing handicap. See https://www.usga.org/content/usga/home-page/handicapping/roh/Content/rules/Appendix%20C%20Handicap%20Allowances.htm.
  • The team score will be the accumulation of the lower individual score on a hole-by-hole basis.
  • The difference in handicap index between the partners is capped at 8 shots. If the difference is greater than 8, the higher handicap player's handicap will be reduced to be no more than 8 higher than the lower handicap.
  • Play will be from the club markers, unless you signed up to play the forward tee (Gold) at the beginning of the year.
  • Prizes will be awarded in both Gross and Net categories. A team may only win in one category. The Golf Genius program will calculate results with official winners posted once those results are verified.
  • Skins are by team and by flight.
  • Scores will be posted to GHIN. Please record the most likely score when a player picks up. For information about "most likely score", see this guidance from the USGA.
  • All scoring will be done with the mobile scoring app. GGIDs for your groups will be posted on the event tee sheet after close of entries.
  • This event qualifies for the Season Long Points Competition.
  • USGA rules govern all play. Local rules and policies as posted on the BHMC website apply.
  • Help maintain our course. Please replace divots and fix ball marks even if they are not yours.

The tournament committee reserves the right to make changes in event flighting due to tee time availability and/or participation. It is our intention to protect the field and make each event/major as competitive as well as enjoyable as possible for all BHMC members. All questions and concerns should be brought to the attention of the tournament committee.
