Season long points is a competition that rewards excellence and consistency throughout the season. We use the season long points standings to fill out our Dam Cup team each September, and the top finishers in each category (gross/net) get an additional pro-shop bonus at the end of the season.

Players earn and accumulate points throughout the year by playing in events that have been designated as Season Long Points events. This includes all majors and Wednesday night events that are not scrambles.

For all individual events, points will be awarded to players based on their individual scores. For all 2-person team events, points will be awarded to players based on the team score with each player receiving equal points. For all 3 person or more team events, players will be awarded points based on their own individual score, not the team score. Each player on the team may receive different points depending on their own score and regardless of how their team does.

Wednesday evening events are three separate events for every nine holes. Weekend majors are separate events per flight. So to restate for Wednesday nights, points are awarded based on all players' scores on a given 9, regardless of flights.

In the event of ties in each specific event, there will be no tie-breakers. The applicable points will be distributed between the tied participants.

At the end of the year, the Top 15 players in points in both the Gross and Net categories will receive pro shop credit prize money based on their position.

In each specific event, players will earn both Gross and Net points, however for the end of the year payouts those players that finish in the Top 15 in both Gross and Net categories will only be paid out in whichever category they finish higher in. In the event a player finishes in the same position in the top 15 in both the Gross and Net categories (i.e. 8th place gross and 8th place net) the default will be to pay them in the gross category.

Payouts for season long points are calculated from a funding formula based on event participation: $0.67 for each player per major, and $0.33 for each player per Wednesday night. From that pool, the top 15 in gross and net are paid at the end of the season using the following percentages:
